RRST is the new ambient
work of Ani Bharadwaj
aka Weird Inside.
This eleven song
album takes me
on a different journey
every time I listen.
It is, at times, grooving
and bouncing along
(like the thumping "I-287")
while other times
acoustic and soothing
(like "Miles to Go").
The track "State Line"
feels underwater
and closing song
"All of It" resembles
coming out of a dream.
The whole composition
demands a nice pair
of headphones
or a good car.
Given how
the RRST acronym
stands for
Range Rover Sound Test
and all of the titles
are built around driving,
I'd say take this one
for a long cruise,
preferably at dawn,
when the world
is still asleep.
