Pitching the graphic novel

Ancestor

by Matt Sheean and Malachi Ward

as a “science fiction epic”

does nothing

but serve it justice.

At over 100 pages,

the 2016 comic

begins with a touch

of anxiety en route

to a futuristic dinner party.

This theme will continue

throughout the story.

The hallucinatory

events that take place

following the 'off the grid'

location will make your

dome spin

like a carnival ride.

I refuse to give away

any spoilers, as it's best

to approach

this mammoth blindly.

Read it back twice

and embrace the art

that properly compliments

such a riveting

(and all too plausible)

narrative.
